New 'Mayday' and 'Pan-Pan' Cockpit cards

Posted on 24th February, 2020

We are pleased to  introduce our new radio procedure forms for announcing a 'Mayday' or 'Pan-Pan' radio emergency request for assistance.

Our Radio Emergency Mayday and Pan-Pan Cockpit Cards takes the user through the spoken Mayday and/or Pan-pan procedure, and each type of distress call is treated separately. The forms need to be kept near your VHF/DSC radio either in the cockpit or at the radio station below deck. The essential details such as Vessel Name, Call Sign and MMSI identification number is filled in by the user so that they will be ready for instant use should the need arise. The procedure can then be read out by the person making the call, in a calm and controlled manner, who may not be the skipper or indeed have any training in making such calls, thereby making the call in the correct protocol required by the Coast Guard.

As with all of our Passage Planner forms they are waterproof and supplied in matt finish both sides, each form can be written on using a 2B pencil and easily erased with a rubber eraser. Can be used time and time again. Supplied as 2 pages in 1 encapsulated pouch.

What does this mean to you?

Well,  an SSL Certificate allows our customers and visitors to connect securely to our website, so that any sensitive or personal data is encrypted and safe during transfer.

We have made a few small changes to our free to download 'Fuel Check Prior to Passage Calculator'. This is a software beta version which helps with your fuel calculations prior to starting a new passage. For use with both sailing yachts and power boats (both have engines); you need to be sure that you have enough fuel on board to enable you to complete your passage. The software is in Excel format so you need to have a fairly up to date version of Excel on your computer, tablet or phone to be able to use it successfully. We appreciate feedback and would like to know how you get on with the calculator, or any improvements you can suggest. (Click on 'Read more' prior to 'Download it here')
